Forest Wetland Restoration Project

Alexandria Community Park

Forested Wetland Restoration Project This is a restoration project underway on the Lake Trail just beyond the main picnic shelter. This has been partially funded with grant from the Campbell County Conservation District. It is for preservation of a natural forested wetland, which assists in water purification and habitat for wildlife and amphibians. There are also other wetland areas in the park: two toward the rear of Lake Trail, and the lower wetlands area – the lower basin, which can be found at the base of Wetland Trail.
