Residents of Alexandria, you are invited to send in your ideas for the new city logo and/or slogan.  Ideas will be collected until Thursday, December 12 at 4:00pm.

Ideas will be initially reviewed by the future Planning Committee and serve as inspiration for the next round of refinements. A public vote on final ideas may commence in January of 2025, which will help to influence the final vote by the Mayor and City Council.

Guidelines

  • The logo design should reflect the spirit of Alexandria. Ideas representing our past, present, and future are all encouraged… although new directions are also welcome.
  • Logos should be designed for clarity and versatility, i.e., able to be broadly used across the spectrum. For example, city buildings and signage, vehicles, stationary, social media channels, etc. Round, circular “seal type” logos are often the most flexible.
  • Chosen ideas will be recognized and credited, though all submissions – and variations of ideas submitted – will become property of the City of Alexandria.
  • Submittals do not need to be a picture.  Written considerations are just as valuable.
  • While designs can be crafted in any program, final submissions should be in PDF or PPT format.
  • The submission deadline is Thursday, December 12 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Please include the following information in your submission.
    • Name and email of person submitting.
    • Description or rationale for your submitted design.
    • A new or refreshed slogan, if desired.
